About the Event

The 2019 Salem Rotary Multi-sport Riverfest offers something for everyone!

We have a Family Fun Run in Riverfront Park that will take children, parents, grandchildren, grandparents, pets (on a leash), and friends and family Past the Bridge and Around the World on a journey that is about 1 km long. We also offer 5K and 10K runs where participants cross the Peter Courtney Bridge and travel along some of the most scenic trails in Minto-Brown Island Park before returning to Riverfront Park. These events are open to everyone from high-performance runners to the more casual joggers and walkers. Regardless of one’s time, everyone who registers receives a t-shirt and a beautiful Finisher Medal.

And, we offer four multi-sport events: Olympic and Sprint distance triathlons and Olympic and Sprint distance duathlons. The triathlons and duathlons involve three of Salem’s premier parks: Wallace Marine Park, Riverfront Park, and Minto-Brown Island Park. The triathlon is a swim/bike/run and the duathlon is a run/bike/run; both multi-sport events are open to individuals and teams. Our triathletes swim in the Willamette River; the bike course takes riders past downtown Salem and along rural River Road South; and the runs follow the same scenic courses as the 5K and 10K events.

The Salem Rotary Multi-sport Riverfest is presented to the community by the Rotary Clubs of Salem and South Salem. Funds raised from this event will be used to support Rotary’s local and international humanitarian projects that promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, support education, and grow local economies.
